Why InfoShield™?

The answer is easy. We bring added value to all the building blocks of IA: people, facilities, experience, technology, and processes. In fact, we offer unique resources and advantages available only from Northrop Grumman IT.

People: An elite cadre of IA specialists
For the levels of security demanded by our clients, only the very best IA minds will do. Northrop Grumman IT employs hundreds of experienced IA professionals, including veteran IA Program Managers and IA Technical Architects. Many hold advanced IA certifications, as well as hundreds of other IT certifications.

Facilities: The proving ground of IA innovation
Our IA solutions are on the job around the globe. We maintain facilities in over 300 locations worldwide. These include 24 labs engaged in IA work and numerous secure locations close to our customers.

InfoShield™ Distributed Enterprise Security Labs (DESLs)
We operate an integrated network of five DESLs connected by secure VPN over the Internet. Unique to Northrop Grumman IT, the DESLs equip us with a nationwide virtual IA laboratory for simulating customer environments, developing security solutions, evaluating new IA products and technology, and training our personnel and customers.

The DESLs support all facets of the InfoShield™ process. They enable us to test network and system vulnerabilities, including penetration testing. We can perform threat analysis and perform attack/defend scenarios both locally and among the labs via Internet. We can also conduct real-time intrusion detection and firewall testing to both train personnel and develop IA products and services. The DESLs provide an unmatched resource for researching, developing and integrating new technology.

Experience: Proven successes in every aspect of IA
InfoShield™ solutions have walked the digital post for the toughest security clients of all: the national intelligence community and America's Armed Forces. For two decades, our IA solutions have shielded mission-critical intelligence and defense networks from attacks, unauthorized intrusion, and denial of service. As the world took notice, we extended our offerings to federal agencies, state and local governments, and private industry. Today, we're the leading supplier of security solutions to the federal government.

  • In recent years, Northrop Grumman IT has applied InfoShield™ solutions on hundreds of IA projects. Government executives and CEOs everywhere sleep easier as a result.
  • Intruders beware. Our network-monitoring infrastructure keeps watch over the networks of the entire U.S. Army and Marine Corps worldwide, some 570,000 users. We protect another 70,000 seats for the U.S. Air Force. Plus, we operate or support 15 Network Operation Security Centers (NOSCs) at key Department of Defense (DoD) installations worldwide.
  • Northrop Grumman IT leads the way in Smart Card solutions for authentication and access control. Today, we're the largest Smart Card supplier to the federal government and DoD - with more than 750,000 cards delivered.
  • We're the place to go for Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) solutions. That's because we're the prime contractor on numerous IA IDIQ vehicles: DISA I Assure, DISA Encore, DISA NexGen, Safeguard, Answer, GSA Schedule, and GSA Smart Card. Northrop Grumman IT is the largest contractor on DISA I Assure contract.
  • Northrop Grumman IT had conducted multiple IR&D and advanced concept technology demonstration (ACTD) Programs. For example, we provided a proof of concept for real-time insider attack detection with non-repudiated authentication. And, we successfully demonstrated real-time recovery technology in networked and distributed systems.
  • States and cities turn to us for independent security assessments. The State of Texas and the City of Seattle are recent examples.
  • As new Homeland Security requirements unfold for all levels of government, the InfoShield™ solution suite offers the most robust foundation available for meeting them.
  • At our Computer Security Incident Response Center, we use our InfoShield™ capabilities to keep information and information infrastructures secure for all of Northrop Grumman Corporation and its 120,000 employees. What's more, we maintained this security through multiple mergers and acquisitions over the previous decade.
  • Applying our home-grown experience and understanding of large-scale commercial enterprises, Northrop Grumman IT has helped automotive, manufacturing, and financial companies meet their IA needs.
