MICHAEL BUTCHKO NAMED PROGRAM MANAGER FOR SGS'S J-BOSC CONTRACT

HERNDON, Va. -- Aug. 23, 2000 -- Logicon Inc., a Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) company, announced today that Maj. Gen. Michael Butchko, U.S. Air Force retired, has been named as the new program manager of Space Gateway Support's Joint Base Operations and Support Contract (J-BOSC).

Related Links Gen. Butchko, who retired from the Air Force in 1993 after 31 years of active duty, last served as commander of the Air Force Development Test Center, Eglin AFB, Fla. In this role, he led an organization with more than 15,000 personnel and an annual operating budget of $600 million. Since leaving the Air Force, he has worked as a management consultant.

A graduate of the Air Force Academy and the Air Force Test Pilot School, Gen. Butchko earned a master's degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California and a master's degree in Public Administration from Auburn University.

Gen. Butchko replaces William P. Hickman, J-BOSC's program manager since the contract began in 1998. Mr. Hickman led Space Gateway Support through the program's critical start-up phase, and has been assigned to a new management position within Logicon's Operations and Services business unit.

J-BOSC is a 10-year, $2.2 billion program to provide base operations support for NASA's Kennedy Space Center and the U.S. Air Force's 45th Space Wing, which includes Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Patrick Air Force Base. By consolidating services, the program is expected to generate nearly $500 million in cost savings over the lifetime of the program.

Space Gateway Support is a joint venture led by Northrop Grumman Technical Services Inc., part of Logicon's Operations and Services business unit. Other joint venture members include IT Group Inc., Monroeville, Pa., and Wackenhut Services, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
