NORTHROP GRUMMAN SECTOR APPOINTS DENNIS J. GAUCI EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, COMMUNICATIONS

HERNDON, Va. -- Sept. 23, 2003 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE: NOC) Information Technology (IT) sector has named Dennis J. Gauci executive director, Communications. Gauci will report to Steve Carrier, vice president, Business Development and Strategic Planning, Northrop Grumman IT.

Gauci will oversee all external and internal communications activities for Northrop Grumman IT to include all strategic marketing communications, advertising, trade shows and events, media relations, executive communications, community relations, employee communications, and the sector's Web sites.

Gauci has more than two decades of communications experience. Most recently, he was vice president, Corporate Communications, Veridian Corporation, Arlington, Va. While at Veridian, he helped position the company as one of the premier providers of information technology services to the national defense and homeland security markets. He led the communications efforts for each of Veridian's eight acquisitions and the subsequent integration of these formerly independent companies into Veridian.

Prior to Veridian, Gauci served as a public affairs officer for the U.S. Air Force, where he held such assignments as public affairs director for the North American Aerospace Defense Command, the U.S. Space Command, and the Air Force Space Command in Colorado Springs, Colo. He also served as the public affairs advisor to the Secretary of the Air Force in the Pentagon.

Gauci earned a bachelor's degree from The University of Detroit and a master's degree from Texas Tech University.
