"Northrop Grumman has a long-standing commitment to institutions that promote math, science and engineering education," said Thomas Shelman, vice president and chief information officer for Northrop Grumman. "Through this contribution, we hope to motivate these most talented students to seek careers in technology and engineering, where there is great demand for a skilled, well-educated workforce."
The donated funds will be used to support the school's advanced placement program. This intensive curriculum allows high school students to enroll in college courses for credit that can be applied toward higher education upon graduation from high school.
"The Dallas School of Science and Engineering is grateful to Northrop Grumman for its generous contribution," said the school's administrator Charles Tuttle.
