ROANOKE, Va. – Sept. 7, 2006 – Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) will discuss its information technology (IT) infrastructure partnership with the Commonwealth of Virginia and demonstrate a collaborative information system next week at the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Innovative Technology Symposium (COVITS) 2006 conference.
COVITS will be held Sept. 10-12 at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center. Northrop Grumman will exhibit at booth 36.
On Monday, Sept. 11 at 2:15 p.m., Northrop Grumman and the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) will present a session titled “Virginia's Technology Transformation: A Partnership for the Future.” Northrop Grumman’s Joe Fay, project director, and Fred Duball, director of VITA’s service management organization, will discuss Virginia’s 10-year, $2 billion IT infrastructure partnership. The partnership is designed to standardize and modernize the Commonwealth’s IT infrastructure capabilities to better serve Commonwealth citizens, agencies, higher education institutions and private sector businesses.
Moderated by The Honorable Aneesh P. Chopra, secretary of technology for the Commonwealth of Virginia, the presentation and panel discussion will examine the opportunity to leverage the benefits of this precedent-setting public-private partnership for all levels of government and in all regions of Virginia.
In the exhibit hall, Northrop Grumman will showcase the TouchTable™, a projection display set on a seven-foot diagonal table. The projection tabletop display facilitates viewing and manipulation of complex data, such as geographic information, that cannot readily be represented on a standard computer display. TouchTable senses the location of points that are touched to manipulate information in real time.
The TouchTable product can be applied to missions ranging from intelligence analysis, tactical operations management and emergency response. TouchTable was developed by TouchTable, Inc. and uses ESRI's ArcGlobe software.
