BALTIMORE, Jan. 30, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has named Douglas J. Norton chief information officer for the company's Electronic Systems sector.

http://media.primezone.com/noc/ In this position, Norton is responsible for establishing the strategic direction and leadership of all information systems and information technology activities in the Electronic Systems sector.
Norton joined Northrop Grumman in 1986 as a software engineer. Throughout his 20-year career with the company, he has held management and executive positions in engineering and information systems, including manager of process and tool development support, and director of sector processes and design automation in engineering and manufacturing.
Most recently, he served as director of operations for Electronic Systems within the company's Information Technology sector, ensuring synergy across the corporation and providing strategic focus in support of the sector's business initiatives.
Norton earned a bachelor's degree in information systems from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
