MCLEAN, Va., April 14, 2008 -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Jason Brown has received a 2008 Award for Outstanding Achievement in Modeling and Simulation from the National Training and Simulation Association.

Brown is an operations research analyst for Northrop Grumman's Information Technology (IT) sector.
He was honored for his work as the architect for the development and deployment of the Manpower and Unit Deployment Execution Model (MUDEM). MUDEM is a discrete event simulation designed for analysis of a wide variety of force structure options serving routine demands as well as scripted contingency deployments to the combatant commands. This model was developed for and is used by the U.S. Marine Corps Deputy Commandant for Programs and Resources for resource and acquisition planning.

Each year in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Defense, the National Training and Simulation Association presents awards to individuals or teams from industry for outstanding achievements in modeling and simulation. Awards are given for outstanding achievement in the specific modeling and simulation functional areas of training, analysis and acquisition, and for outstanding achievements in support of the overall modeling and simulation.
