Health Senior Management Team
Amy King, Division Director, Healthcare Systems Management
Ms. King has more than 22 years of experience with both civilian and defense agencies in the management, analysis, design, development, and implementation of large-scale automated financial and related administrative information systems using both mainframe and Web-based technology. Ms. King currently is the Director of the Healthcare Systems Management Division at Northrop Grumman. Her client responsibility includes the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Austin datacenter.
Prior to Northrop Grumman, she spent nearly 10 years at CGI-AMS (formerly American Management Systems). Her most recent role was as the Vice President for Federal Healthcare, and she had responsibility for the management, development, and execution of more than $70 million in business for HHS, VA, and DoD Military Health as well as state Medicaid offerings. She spent 4 years as the responsibility center manager for the Human Services Agency Group, which had the mission of implementing federal financial management systems and services in organizations such as Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of Interior, Department of Commerce, Office of Personnel Management and other small agencies. From 1996 to 1998, she was the client manager for AMS's work at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Prior to joining AMS, she was a senior manager responsible for developing and managing various systems at the Department of State, Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), Department of Treasury, General Services Administration, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, and Defense Logistics Agency.
Ms. King started her career as an analyst/programmer developing systems for the Department of Defense. Her breadth of information technology consulting experience ranges from small inventory control and tracking systems, to medium sized integration command and control integration projects, to large-scale logistics, healthcare and financial systems integration efforts. Ms. King also has experience in business process improvement, change management, strategic information technology planning, electronic government, data warehouses, decision support systems, life cycle methodologies, program management, and independent verification and validation.
Ms. King is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and has her MBA from George Washington University. She had been involved with several professional organizations including Women in Technology (WIT), Industry Advisory Council (IAC), and the Association of Government Accountants (AGA).
