UK PSRCPUnited Kingdom Public Safety Radio Communications Project (PSRCP)

Northrop Grumman Information Technology is the systems integrator for the Public Safety Radio Communications Project (PSRCP) to replace and operate the United Kingdom (UK) emergency services radio communications system.

The new Public Safety Radio Communications System (PSRCS) will use advanced digital information technologies in voice, data, and image communications and information processing to help emergency services in the UK respond rapidly and reliably to emergency calls.  Police, fire, ambulance and other public safety officers using the system will be able to access computerized databases and, ultimately, receive and transmit photographs, maps and other documents from handheld, portable radios and public safety vehicles.

As part of its overall systems engineering and integration responsibility, Northrop Grumman is developing the network that integrates PSRCS components and links it with existing and future national and Force information-technology systems.  Forces and other agencies nationwide will operate seamlessly and stay in contact with each other from any location in Britain. PSRCS is also designed to provide more communications capacity for peak demands, a comprehensive range of data services, improved coverage, reduced interference and good speech clarity.
