As vice president, Global Business Development, Denzil Samuels leads all business development activities within Northrop Grumman’s Information Technology (IT) sector.

Known for strong customer relationships and in-depth IT knowledge, Mr. Samuels has wide-ranging leadership experience, management skills and expertise. He is a leader with a proven ability to plan, build and execute a business strategy geared to attain substantial growth and profitability. Mr. Samuels has global experience gained from living and working in Europe, the Middle East and the United States, combined with 26 years in information technology across a variety of disciplines, including business development, sales, marketing, operations and general management.

At Northrop Grumman IT, Mr. Samuels is responsible for growing the sector’s key businesses, including building on its wireless solutions and international business development activities. He also oversees the IT sector’s long-range strategic plan. He works closely with business development leads from across the IT sector, and is responsible for effective account management and business acquisition processes. He partners with Northrop Grumman IT’s Washington Operations vice president on alliance initiatives and represents the sector on the corporation’s Strategic Business Council.

Mr. Samuels came to Northrop Grumman from Avaya, where he was most recently senior vice president and general manager for Global Managed Services. While there, Mr. Samuels generated double-digit growth in lines of business including Internet protocol support services and managed applications. He also grew Avaya’s “On Demand” portfolio and the communications outsourcing business areas.

Previously, Mr. Samuels was senior vice president, products and services at Qwest Cyber Solutions, where he implemented a successful market and product strategy, and held senior positions at Level 3 Communications and Lucent Technologies.

Mr. Samuels studied electronic engineering at Southall College of Technology, London, and has an honorary doctorate in technology management from Colorado Technical University, Denver. He works closely with Reggie Jackson (Major League Baseball Hall of Fame) in providing access to technology and education for children in need, through the Mr. October Foundation for Kids.
